Education and Training Program

The Commonwealth Respite & Carelink Centre organises education and training programs for carers with the aim to enhance skills and knowledge, which support them in their caring role.

The education is organised throughout the year and is based on feedback from carers on what they think would best assist them to better manage their caring role and thereby improve their lives and the person they care for.

  • All carers are welcome to attend the courses that are organised
  • We can provide respite to enable the carer to attend a course
  • We send out an annual calendar in July with the organised courses, which also provides some information on the course content.

How to book in for a course

  • Carers can phone Freecallâ„¢ 1800 052 222 to register an interest in attending a course(s)
  • Carers will be contacted a month prior to the course to ensure they still want to attend, and organise respite if needed.

Carer Activities

Every year in October a week (Carers Week) is dedicated to the recognition of carers and to say thankyou for the hard work they do on a continuous basis. Our Centre organises a number of activities during this week. The activities provide an opportunity for carers to meet other carers and have a fun relaxing time.

Carers Week events are advertised in the annual calendar sent out to all carers registered with our centre.
